Scholarship

 

Scholarships from Mounting Hope Village have two components. The total scholarship award amount is $2000. Half of the total award amount will be paid directly to the University for educational expenses and fees. Because we want to student to continue to thrive in the midst of mental illness, the other half will be awarded to the student for expenses associated with their mental health treatment including, but not limited to therapy and prescriptions*.

 

A scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior who:

 

Has been diagnosed, or has an immediate family member that has been diagnosed with a mental illness and he/she also:

 

  • Has an overall GPA of 3.5 or above.
  •  
  • Has a part-time job or is involved in an extracurricular activity.
  •  
  • Has applied and awaiting acceptance or has been accepted to accredited University.

To apply:

 

  1. Submit the scholarship application and copy of high school transcript along with an essay of at least 1000 words on how your mental illness or immediate family member’s mental illness has affected you and you have managed to be successful in spite of this issue.

  3. Submit one letter of recommendation from a non-relative describing your character why you deserve this award.
  4.  
  5. Submit one letter of recommendation from your or your immediate family member’s mental illness healthcare team member describing why you deserve this award. (Healthcare team member includes therapists, psychiatrists, counselor, or any certified practitioner who is directly involved in the mental health care of the patient with mental illness)
  6.  
  7. Submit one letter of recommendation from your relative describing your character and why you deserve this award.

  •  *For the award amount paid to the award recipient, the recipient will be reimbursed for fees paid to their mental healthcare team and prescriptions up to $1000. If the individual selected as the award recipient is a person with an immediate family member who is impacted by mental illness, all of the award amount will be paid directly to the University for education expenses.
